Intermersive Movies
, in collaboration with BETA Theater and Dinolion, is seeking actors, improvisers and fans of the movie Rushmore for an upcoming interactive performance based on the film in Houston, TX

Auditions will be held FRIDAY, JULY 8 between 10:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. and will consist of sides from the film script and/or brief character improvisations. Please contact us at INTERMERSIVECASTING@GMAIL.COM to schedule an appointment. (While we prefer to audition talent in person, we will accept video submissions.)

Rehearsals will be held August 6-11. Performances are scheduled for August 12 & 13.

We are looking for talent to fill the following principal roles. Resemblance to the characters in the film is a plus, though all are welcome to audition. Age and sex designations are merely a guideline. All actors will need basic skills in improvisation. All talent WILL BE PAID a stipend for the week.

MAX FISHER, male, 15 - A playwright prodigy at Rushmore Academy on scholarship. A poor student, but an ambitious organizer of extra-curricular activities. Precocious, self-assured, but not emotionally mature. Portrayed by Jason Schwartzman in the film.

HERMAN BLUME, male, 40s-50s - A wealthy businessman and benefactor of Rushmore, but utterly disaffected by what his success has brought him. Possibly manic depressive, with a childish streak that feeds his friendship/rivalry with Max. Portrayed by Bill Murray in the film.

DIRK CALLOWAY, male, 10 - Max's best friend and protégé. Portrayed by Mason Gamble in the film.

DR. GUGGENHEIM, male, 60s - Dr. Guggenheim is the Headmaster of Rushmore Academy, eternally frustrated by Max’s schemes but he respects Max’s tenacity. Portrayed by Brian Cox in the film.

IN ADDITION TO THESE PRINCIPAL ROLES, we are seeking a number of additional performers to portray supporting charactes, including but not limited to Max's girlfriend MARGARET YANG, the Scottish bully MAGNUS BUCHAN, and the mysterious South Asian groundskeeper MR. LITTLEJEANS, as well as student characters not necessarily appearing in the film - SO ALL ARE INVITED TO APPLY. These supporting roles WILL BE PAID a stipend for each performance. Send us an email at INTERMERSIVECASTING@GMAIL.COM to be considered for these roles.
