Fort Bend Theatre will be holding auditions for Neil Simon’s God’s Favorite September 12th and 13th from 6-9pm.

Neil Simon’s God's Favorite is a hilarious modern tale of the Biblical Book of Job. Joe Benjamin has it all, a loving (if somewhat exasperating) family, a successful business, a beautiful home and a functioning body. Life comes to a turn when he is visited by Sidney Lipton, aka A Messenger from God, and, as in the biblical story, is subjected to all manner of temptations to get Joe Benjamin to renounce God. The jokes and tests of faith fly fast and furious in this contemporary morality tale told as only Neil Simon can.

The Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition needs male actors to help with a dramatization on September 14th. The event will be for a press conference at Houston City Hall and will have wide coverage in the media in addition to your time being tax-deductible as we are a 501c3. The roles have limited speaking parts and will therefore only have one rehearsal on September 9 at 6pm. The time commitment is minimal but the purpose is to launch Human Trafficking Awarenss Week in Houston, TX for which the goal is raise community awareness about modern-day slavery. [non-paying gig] I am looking for a costume designer to come up with conceptual costume designs to be included in a production book for play submissions at a local community theatre. The three shows are CHICAGO, WEST SIDE STORY, and SPRING AWAKENING. Interested parties should send their resume to Please be sure to include pictures or sketches of previous costume designs.
