Sunday 1/3 and Monday 1/4 @ 6 pm at Puffabelly's in Old Town Spring (100 Main St, Spring, TX 77373).

Rehearsals are Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays in the early evening (with an additional Thursday rehearsal on opening weekend) starting 1/5.

Shows are Feb 12/13, 19/20, 26/27.

Some pay with box office split mailed out a couple days after final show.

Shows are audience interactive and require strong characterization and improvisational skills.

Standing Room Only will be hosting auditions for SILENCE! THE MUSICAL, the hilarious sendup of Silence of The Lambs, on January 16 from 10am to 4pm at Obsidian Theater. The show runs June 9-26 at Obsidian Theater.

To reserve your audition slot, please email with a requested time, your full name and your phone number.

Each auditioner will have two minutes to present a comedic monologue and a song that shows character and range. Be prepared to sing a cappella. Please no recorded backing tracks, but you may choose to accompany yourself if you play an instrument.

Callbacks will be held on January 19 at 7:00pm at Obsidian Theatre. Callbacks will consist of sides and song cuts from the show. A pianist will be provided.

Obsidian Theater is located at 3522 White Oak Dr. In The Heights. There is free parking on either side of the building and on the street but please be aware of parking restrictions and home driveways.

The soundtrack for SILENCE! Can be streamed on YouTube, Rdio, Pandora and various other streaming sites.

Clarice Starling (alto) – A student at the FBI Academy. She hopes to work at the Behavioral Science Unit, tracking down serial killers and ultimately apprehending them. Her mentor, Jack Crawford, sends her to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter. The character is commonly portrayed as having a lisp.

Dr. Hannibal Lecter (tenor) – A brilliant psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer who helps Clarice out in her investigation and eventually escapes prison in a bloody massacre.

Jame Gumb/Buffalo Bill (baritone) – Serial killer and main antagonist of the plot. He murders overweight women so he can remove their skin and fashion a "woman suit" for himself; he falsely believes himself to be transsexual but is too disturbed to qualify for sex reassignment surgery.

Catherine Baker Martin (soprano) – Daughter of Senator Ruth Martin, kidnapped and imprisoned by "Buffalo Bill".
Jack Crawford (bass-baritone) – The Agent-in-Charge of the Behavioral Science Unit of the FBI in Quantico, Virginia.

Ardelia Mapp (mezzo-soprano) – Roommate of Clarice Starling and also a student at the FBI Academy who helps her out in the investigation.

Dr. Frederick Chilton (high baritone) – The pompous, incompetent director of the Chesapeake State Hospital for the Criminally Insane and later Baltimore Hospital for the Criminally Insane. There, he is the jailer of Hannibal Lecter.

Papa Starling (baritone) – Clarice's deceased father who appears to her in visions to encourage her in carrying out the investigation. A Virginia Sheriff who was killed during a robbery.

Senator Ruth Martin (soprano) – National Senator and mother of Catherine, who pleads for Buffalo Bill to release her daughter on national television and arranges for Lecter to be transferred to a lighter security prison in Baltimore in exchange for information on the killer.

INSPIRATION STAGE, the theatre that brought you THE LION KING JR, presents PINKALICIOUS AUDITIONS!

Pinkalicious is a fun-filled musical with roles for all ages and ethnicities!

This is the tale, based on the popular book by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann, of Pinkalicious, who can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this pink predicament.

Director Richard Gomez is seeking actors of ages 8-18 of all ethnicities to come out and audition for this wonderful, upbeat and pink production!

Auditions: December 17 5:30-8:30PM

Ages 8-18 Tuition-$300

Rehearsals: December 28-January 1 (Mon-Fri) 9AM-5PM

Tech: January 4-7 5:30-7:30PM

Four Performances: January 8-10

For auditions, please bring a resume' and headshot (if you have one) and prepare a song from a musical. Please bring the instrumental track for your audition song on a CD, Phone or iPod/iPad and come dressed for choreography. Conflicts can be listed on audition sheets at callbacks.

Intrepid Fringe returns to the stage with its timely production of Shakespeare's Tragedy of Julius Caesar.

In year 4000 of the Common Era, in a galaxy far away, cityship Roma orbits the planet Europa, where Julius Caesar returns in triumph to accept the crown, but will she succeed?

Women command the leading roles while males portray the spouses, servants, soldiers and such in this interactive presentation of Shakespeare's ultimate power struggle. Imagine Star Wars meets Steam Punk, with costumes and soundtrack rocking at hyper-speed.

With emphasis on connecting to its audiences and making them complicit in the story, Intrepid Fringe builds upon its previous successes with Macbeth and King Lear. Directed by hal evans.

PROJECT/PRODUCTION STAGE MANAGER

Express Children’s Theatre, a professional performing arts organization since 1991, seeks an energetic, flexible, self-motivated, near full-time project/production stage manager for on-site shows and tours around Houston for immediate hire. Must be able to work weekdays and some Saturdays. THIS IS A PAID POSITION.

Job Function

The Project/Production Stage Manager (PSM) stage manages rehearsals, runs tech for touring shows, drives the van and cast to shows, coordinates the touring schedule, manages the production schedule for all Express productions and completes special projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Extremely well-organized, efficient, time-sensitive and responsible

Project managing skills a must

Stage Managing/Production managing skills a bonus

Excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills

Well-developed communication skills

Works well under pressure with many personality types

Teamwork and problem solving skills

Handle Special Projects as assigned by the Executive Director

Can coordinate between creative crew and director

Point of contact for traveling shows

Current (Class C) driver’s License with clean driving record

Computer proficient in MS Word preferred

Understands and appreciates artists and the artistic process

Ability to work flexible daytime schedule Monday-Friday and some Saturdays; infrequent nighttime shows.



Education:

High school diploma required

Some college preferred



Experience in theatre is preferred; however, a well-organized project manager with an appreciation of the performing arts could also handle this job, as long as you are efficient, responsible, good-natured and can juggle several tasks at once. It’s a lot of work but very rewarding – we perform original plays with professional actors and designers for audiences of over 50,000 kids and their families a year.

The Art Institute of Houston

DIGITAL FILMMAKING AND VIDEO PRODUCTION


A group of Digital Film majors at the Art Institute of Houston are currently seeking actors for multiple scene studies. There are a wide variety of roles from popular movies available in genres ranging from comedy to thrillers. (Age range from 20-45, both male and female)

Each scene will be shot with corresponding cinematography and mise-en-scene. The directors will work closely with the actors from rehearsals to recording. This is an excellent opportunity to quickly beef up an acting reel.

Rehearsal will be held in Houston, TX. For more information e-mail your headshot and pertinent information to the corresponding e-mail address.

Compensation will be at each director's discretion. Please note, while these scene studies will be cinematically shot and directed, they are not full productions.
