Clear Creek Community Theatre in Nassau Bay, TX is still looking for actors for its upcoming production of "The Philadelphia Story". Roles needed are as follows:

C.K. Dexter Haven -- Wealthy member of Philadelphia’s upper society. Ex-husband of Tracy Lord. Designs and pilots sailboats. Played by Cary Grant in the movie.

Alexander (Sandy) Lord – Son of Margaret and Seth Lord, brother of Tracy. Works for The Saturday Evening Post. Made a deal with Destiny Magazine’s editor to delay a scandalous story about his father, Seth.

Please message myself or the director, Matthew Phillips, about these roles. Production runs May 20-June 5.

A wealthy socialite sees her second wedding disrupted by her ex-husband and a nosy reporter and photographer. This Broadway hit starred Katharine Hepburn as Tracy Lord, of the Philadelphia Lords, a headstrong and spoiled daughter of the privileged. Divorced from C.K. Dexter Haven, she is engaged to a successful young snob. A society weekly sends a reporter and female photographer to cover the wedding arrangements. Tracy finds herself growing interested in the reporter Mike Connor, and following the pre-wedding bash, they take a moonlight swim and are then surprised by Dexter and the fiancé. The following morning her intended smugly forgives her, enraging Tracy, who breaks off the engagement. Connor offers to marry her, but she turns him down and remarries Dexter, the real love of her life, after all.

The Spring Studio Series production is a delightful romantic comedy by Jack Neary, Jerry Finnegan’s Sister playing April 7 – April 17. Brian Dowd has spent the last 10 years of his life wrestling with an unrequited "something" for his best friend's sister, who happens to live next door. But each and every time he's spoken with Beth Finnegan for more than 30 seconds, he's ended up with his foot planted firmly in his mouth. Now, Beth is about to get married and Brian's time is running out. In a series of fast-moving, hysterically funny scenes, two actors play Brian and Beth from ages seven and six, through their adolescent and teen years, to the present.

ETC SEEKING ACTORS FOR NEXT PRODUCTION

Island ETC (East-End Theatre Company) is pleased to announce open auditions for all roles in our upcoming production of THE KITCHEN WITCHES by Caroline Smith. Auditions will be held on Sunday and Monday, March 20th and 21st at 7:00pm both evenings. Auditions will be held at ETC, 2317 Mechanic Street, Galveston.

This fun and fast-paced comedy centers on Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle, cable-access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years. The hatred began when Larry Biddle dated one of them and married the other. But when they are forced to team up on a television show called “Kitchen Witches,” the show becomes a hit as the insults are flung harder than the food.

Performances for THE KITCHEN WITCHES are May 13th through May 28th. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm and Sundays, May 15th and May 22nd at 2:30pm. Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, April 10th. Rehearsals are held Sunday through Thursday evenings from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.

The show is directed by Christopher Pool. Production stage manager is Cameron Dunbar. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Those auditioning are asked to provide a current resume and headshot. (But don’t let not having this keep you from auditioning!)

All roles are available. All actors need strong comedic skills and timing. All actors will receive a production stipend.

DOLLY BIDDLE – 50’s; a little cherub of a woman, prone to being overweight but always going at top speed.

STEPHEN BIDDLE – 30’s; a nervous, shy, prematurely balding but decent young man who actually enjoys producing low-budget cable TV shows, even when his Mom is the star.

ISOBEL LOMAX – 50’s; trained at the Cordon Bleu, enjoyed her own successful career, and thinks that she can teach Martha Stewart a few things about homemaking.

ROB THE CAMERA GUY (or ROBERTA THE CAMERA GIRL) – This is the busiest character in the show with only one line. This character frightens Stephen a bit. Must be extremely efficient and precise.

For additional information, please contact Kim Mytelka (Artistic Director) at kimdmy@aol.com. Please put Kitchen Witches in the subject line. More information about ETC can be found at www.islandetc.org.
