The Country Playhouse announces its 2007-08 (51st) season for it's Black Box Productions and the main Cerwinske Stage starting with Israel Horovitz's gripping play, The Widow's Blind Date, June 8-23 in the Black Box Theater and Meredith Willson's classic family musical, The Music Man, July 12-28 on the Cerwinske Stage. *The Music Man by Meredith Willson – Summer Musical Family Entertainment at it’s finest!

*Laughing Stock by Charles Morey – Hilarious Backstage Farce

*Miracle on 34th Street, adapted by Will Severin, Patricia Di Benedetto and John Vreeke from the novel by Valentine Davies – Well Loved Family Holiday Classic

Matinees: Sun, November 25 and December 2 at 2:30 p.m.

*The Turn of the Screw, adapted by Douglas Jones from the story by Henry James – Provocative Tale of Suspense, Horror and Repressed Sexuality for Mystery Lovers

BLACK BOX PRODUCTIONS 2007-08 SEASON:

An intimate, variable capacity performing space, the Black Box theatre at The Country Playhouse provides a venue for entertainment ranging from cutting edge, commercial plays to live readings of original works, many of which go on to full production staging.

*The Widow’s Blind Date, by Israel Horovitz (in conjunction with the Outlaw Actors). A story of macho posturing, awakening memories and revenge, this gripping play opens with the lighthearted reunion of three former classmates and moves to a shattering, explosive conclusion. “…packs a wallop that few plays will be able to equal…” Brooklyn Free Press. “The Widow’s Blind Date is a scorcher.” The Boston Globe

Price The ticket price is currently $10, the space seats up to 70 people, depending upon how it’s configured, and shows are generally scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays only (no matinees unless otherwise stated).
