The Texas Repertory Theatre Co.’s 4th Season a Gift to Audiences

The Texas Repertory Theatre Co., NW Houston’s critically-acclaimed professional theatre, announces their 2008-2009 season of plays and musicals, chosen as a gift and thank-you to the NW Houston audiences that have made The Texas Repertory Theatre Co. such a success...

Audience appeal is carefully balanced with artistic challenges for this company that has been called Houston’s “little theatre that can”.

Opening the season on September 17th will be the musical I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, a hilarious and melodic look at love and relationships. October brings a Halloween spoof of “gothic” proportions to the stage as two guys play sixteen hysterical characters in The Mystery of Irma Vepp. The Texas Repertory Christmas family tradition A Christmas Story returns to the stage in December by popular demand, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the classic holiday favorite.

The Spring brings a comedy classic, The Odd Couple, to The Texas Rep stage in February, honoring the most prolific and successful playwright in American theatre history, Neil Simon. March is a time for music, and audiences can revel in the lush score of the new musical The Spitfire Grill, based on the award-winning 1996 film of the same name. Closing the season in May will be the warmly wistful comedy The Miss Firecracker Contest, by the Pulitzer-Prize winning Beth Henley, the author of Crimes of the Heart.

Discounted season ticket packages are available now, with a variety of packages to fit every taste and budget. For more information, please call The Texas Rep box office at 281-583-7573 or visit
