Breast cancer musical UNBEATABLE and hit ALWAYS.PATSY CLINE to play in repertory thru Oct. 5th.

HOUSTON, TX - Stages Repertory Theatre, like much of Houston, suffered water damage from Hurricane Ike and is still without power. As a result, the theatre was forced to cancel more than a week of sold-out performances for its two hit musicals, Unbeatable and Always.Patsy Cline. During this period, the theatre's box-office computers and phone lines have been down, making ticket-holder communication impossible...

Recently, the HOBBY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS generously offered the use of its 500-seat Zilkha Hall for the next two weeks, and Stages is hastily remounting its productions in the new venue.

Stages is rebooking existing ticket-holders into one of the new performance time slots and also making a push to sell extra seats, since the Zilkha Hall has additional capacity. The revised production schedules are:

Kenn McLaughlin, Stages' producing artistic director, commented, "The Hobby Center's generosity may be our saving grace this season. Not only did we stand to lose an enormous amount of revenue, we wanted as many people as possible to see the premiere of the musical Unbeatable, which is an inspiration not just to those touched by breast cancer, but to anyone with a heart." McLaughlin continued, "Always.Patsy Cline originated at Stages some 20 years ago and the new, revamped production had been extended twice before the storm. It's a crowd-pleaser, especially at a time when people are in need of some good, old-fashioned uplifting."

Stages ticket-holders are encouraged to contact the theatre's box office during "Ike hours" of 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. daily at 713.527.0123. Those wishing to purchase new tickets for the Zilkha Hall performances should call the Hobby Center Box Office at 713.315.2525 or visit www.thehobbycenter.org

Following the run at Zilkha Hall, and assuming power has been restored at Stages, Always.Patsy Cline will return to Stages and continue to play on its original schedule through November 9. Unbeatable may also be extended and return to Stages if demand remains high at during the Zilkha run.
