Mildred’s Umbrella Theater Company would like to invite you to a fantastic evening of dining, dancing, and more!October 25, 2008
"Channel your favorite celebrity (who happens to be deceased), put on your dancing shoes, and join us on the red carpet for La Petite Mort, our Dead Celebrity Costume Gala. Come enjoy fine food, wine, and beer, compliments of Prego Restaurant and St. Arnold’s Brewery, while groovin’ to the groovy sounds of DJ Kevin Bakos.
In addition, we will have two – count ‘em! 2!! – auctions, a “silent†auction throughout the night, featuring art, restaurant and entertainment packages, and lots of other goodies, followed by a not-so-silent auction of the best “mistakes†made by some of Houston’s finest artists, emceed by those auctioneers extraordinaire (drum roll, please) – The Art Guys! Participating Artists include Jason Makepeace, Katy Heinlein, Patricia Hernandez, Dean Ruck, Sharon Engelstein, Anthony Thompson Schumate, Jodi Bobrovski, Bill Willis, Bennie Ansell and Darryl Lauster. And, as if that wasn’t enough, there’ll be door prizes and a dead celebrity costume contest with a surprise (live) celebrity judge!
This fabulous event will be happening at The Gremillion and Company Gallery at 2501 Sunset Boulevard on Saturday October 25, 2008 from 7:30pm to midnight.
There are many ways to be a part of this fun evening.
1) Buy an ‘Oscar Winner’ table for 8 people and choose your celebrity theme and choose your celebrity host! The VIP tables also feature special goodie bags with event tickets, edible goodies, and other exciting gifts to make the evening more fun. Tables at this level are limited, so get yours before they’re all gone!
Celebrity Host Choices: Audrey Hepburn, Rasputin, John Lennon, Countess Elizabeth Bathory, Joan Crawford, Hunter S. Thompson, Marilyn Monroe, Marie Antoinette, Marlene Deitrich, Amelia Earhardt, Cleopatra.
2) Bring three friends! Buy a ‘Star Status’ table for 4 people and get your table decorated to the theme of your choice, and visits from our many wandering dead celebrities throughout the night. Have a beer brought to you by Marilyn Monroe, or a dessert fetched by Elvis. You will also get a special goodie bag for each person in your group
3) Buy a single ticket to the event for $50 and dine and dance and check out the auction. Tickets will be $75.00 at the door.
The deadline to purchase the special theme tables is October 1, 2008.
