The University of Houston - School of Theatre & Dance presents Hedda Gabler, by Henrik Ibsen. Directed by Clinton Hopper. Running September 18 through September 20. A Free event at the University of Houston in Studio 208, in the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts.

In Ibsen’s groundbreaking turn-of-the-century play, Hedda Gabler tries to escape her boredom by manipulating the lives of all those around her. The character of Hedda is considered by some critics as one of the great dramatic roles in theatre, the "female Hamlet," and some portrayals have been very controversial. Depending on the interpretation, Hedda may be portrayed as an idealistic heroine fighting society, a victim of circumstance, a prototypical feminist, or a manipulative villain.
