Celebrating Adam, Eve, and the age-old pursuit of paradise, Stages 2006 spring gala Searching for Eden re-creates the sumptuous paradise of the Garden of Eden at The Corinthian in the heart of downtown Houston. Stages board member Tara Simon chairs the event, the theme of which was inspired by the runaway-hit production currently running at Stages. Signature apple martinis and the sinfully good fare of Jackson and Company will tempt the palate; an extensive silent auction will tempt the wallet; and all will be seduced by the verdant décor and musical cabaret...

The silent auction features items to satisfy every desire, including a performance in your home by concert pianist Loreta Kovacic; a vacation package with first-class airfare on Continental Airlines to Punta Mita, Mexico; and a platinum and diamond necklace and Russian enamel and diamond cuff links by Valobra, the Master Jewelers to the Italian Royal Family. The musical cabaret features Houston favorites Deborah Boily and Jonathan McVay singing songs of love and temptation, while throughout the evening guests will revel in the musical stylings of Houston’s Best DJ, Sean Carnahan.

This year the fun doesn’t end with dessert: Carnahan follows Stages’ guests upstairs for a theatrical lounge party, After Eden, at 10:00 p.m. Chaired by Lucinda Loya and Milton Townsend, After Eden features candied apples, dirty martinis and other Earthly delights. Dress is sensual attire, fig leaf optional.

Single tickets to the Searching for Eden gala are $300, and tables of 10 begin at $3,000. Tickets to After Eden are included in the gala ticket, or can be purchased separately for $75.
