The Strand Theatre proudly enters its 30th Anniversary season of performances as Galveston Island's Premiere Community Theatre. Housed in the 1871 Opperman Building, located directly across from the beautiful Tremont House Hotel in the heart of the historic Strand District, The Strand Theatre is dedicated to providing quality, theatrical entertainment to the Galveston community and frequent island visitors. We hope that you will join us as we present a season of new works and old favorites!
BUFORD – WORLD PREMIERE

David Buford, Jr. is an emotional wreck after the recent death of his father until a ghost informs him of the evil plans being carried out by his no-good Uncle &#$!. Now Junior must avenge his father's death -- but is he crazy enough to do it? Family, politics, blood lust, betrayal, mystery, friendship and love -- each plays a role in this hilarious retelling of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, set on a dairy farm in East Texas.
