The classic and inspiring holiday drama, It's A Wonderful Life, is coming to the Houston Family Arts Center! This enduring story of love, life, friendship and hope opens on the Garza Main Stage, November 27th – December 20th.

Directed by Rachel Landon, this stage adaptation of the screenplay by Frances Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra, and Jo Swerling is a faithful, fast-moving stage adaptation of the classic film and is not only a joyful Christmas tale -- it's the gorgeous love story of George and Mary Bailey, a vivid portrait of the Greatest Generation, a descent into the darkest hour of a man trapped by circumstance, and a powerful meditation on what makes a meaningful life.
Director Rachel Landon remarked: "We all know It’s A Wonderful Life. It's iconic. We identify with it decades later because it tells such a beautiful story. George Bailey is our “Everyman.” He is not perfect, but he aims to do what's right, so we naturally root for him, because it's the kind of thing we want to see in ourselves. We can all identify with Bedford Falls--our home, our roots, our rock--it could be Any-town U.S.A.

I love this story because it’s universal, and how emotionally charged we all feel when George Bailey runs down the streets of Bedford Falls on Christmas Day. I know this live experience will be unique and emotionally fulfilling whether you are seeing it for the first time, or if you've seen it a thousand times before. I hope you'll join us for this Holiday classic!”
The city of Bedford Falls is populated by HFAC newcomers Brock Hatton (George Bailey), Nicole Holbrook (Mary Hatch/Bailey) and Chris Gibson (Mr. Potter).
You will also recognize several HFAC alums, including Shamus O’Brien (Uncle Billy), Patrick Barton (Clarence), Kristen Malisewski (Jo) and Jeff Hirt (Pop Bailey).
