A Chorus Line Music by Marvin Hamlisch, Lyrics by Ed Kleban Book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante
July 15 thru July 31
Director/choreographer Michael Bennett had long wanted to do a show about the faceless artists in the chorus who persevere through endless audtions and almost constant rejection. So in 1974, he rented a studio and invited 24 dancers to talk about their lives.... ... These conversations became A Chorus Line, and it revolutionized musical theatre. Instead of the rigid storyline of traditional musicals, A Chorus Line weaves together stories from an ensemble cast. Winner of 9 Tony awards and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama, A Chorus Line still moves and excites audiences today.
