Bottles, diapers and bibs, oh my! Ken Ludwig's new comedy Be My Baby features Dixie Carter, often remembered as Julia Sugarbaker of the long-running television hit Designing Women and Hal Holbrook, the Oscar-nominated actor who played Deep Throat in All the President's Men and is currently appearing on Broadway to critical and audience raves with his one man show Mark Twain Tonight!. The veteran actors play two likeable characters who actually don't like each other very much, but are forced into a cross-Atlantic adventure to transport a newborn baby to her adoptive parents. Be My Baby is the latest from the author of Broadway's Lend Me A Tenor, Crazy for You and Leading Ladies, which premiered at the Alley last season. Houston receives a holiday gift when the Alley introduces a new production of the popular holiday story A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas. Adapted and directed by Michael Wilson, Artistic Director of Hartford Stage Company, this new version will be an amusing and musical re-telling of Charles Dickens' "ghostly little book" about Ebenezer Scrooge and the three ghosts who visit him on Christmas Eve. Alley Resident Actor James Black dons Scrooge's nightgown, with re-imagined scenic design by Tony Straiges (Alley's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), costumes by Alejo Vietti (Alley's Bad Dates), lighting by Rui Rita (Alley's A Christmas Carol, Bad Dates), and original music by John Gromada (Alley's Leading Ladies and Bad Dates). ConocoPhillips presents this spectacular holiday treat for the entire family.

Dan Zanes, former frontman of the indie rock band The Del Fuegos, brings his band to the Alley for two performances in the intimate Neuhaus Stage. His recent CD, House Party, was nominated for a 2005 Grammy Award for "Best Musical Album for Children." Toddlers to adults welcome.

A collision of the hysterical and the historical gives Alley audiences a wild ride in this fast-paced, keenly acted production from California comedy troupe Culture Clash. Richard Montoya, Ric Salinas and Herbert Sigüenza -- who originated the Alley's wildly successful ¡Cantinflas! -- return to the Alley after an explosive Houston debut last fall. Culture Clash in AmeriCCa features characters and dialogue from interviews with people from across the United States and freshly shares observations about class, race, sex and politics- - all with a wicked sense of humor.

A fictional account of events, Orson's Shadow uses humor and irony to reveal the fragility and vulnerability of these larger-than-life celebrities whose tangled romance (between Olivier, Joan Plowright, and Olivier's wife Vivien Leigh) and fleeting fame lead to a hilarious and powerful clash of the titans. One of the greatest farces in classic dramatic literature, Molière's The Miser uses sharp wit and biting satire to draw audiences into the world of the tyrannical Harpagon, a ruthless, self-absorbed patriarch, perfectly willing to sacrifice his children for greed. When Harpagon's plans to marry off his children are thwarted by their own love interests, a comedic chaos ensues, filled with lovers, vows, hidden treasure, and mistaken identities. The well-known French comedy gets a new production at the Alley Theatre by Theatre de la Jeune Lune of Minneapolis, winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre. According to the Boston Globe, Theatre de la Jeune Lune's production of The Miser "has such grace and wit that it's churlish to be miserly with one's praise."
