The 1st Annual â€œNot So Galaâ€ Gala
Tired of the same old charity scene? Wishing for an alternative way to give back? BooTown is throwing the official â€œFUN-raiserâ€ of the year, raising funds for both the Houston Fringe Festival and Writers in the Schools.
The â€œNot So Galaâ€ Gala will feature finger-licking BBQ (vegetarian choices available), moon walks, a silent auction, live entertainment..
by DJ Reverberation, games and of course, the fabulous theatrical stylingâ€™s of BooTownâ€™s talented artists.

MORE info: The 1st Annual â€œNot so Galaâ€ Gala is a kickoff event to the organizationsâ€™ Houston Fringe Festival, scheduled for May 15 â€“ 17. The Houston Fringe Festival, a weekend long festival producing new works in the performance art and showcasing works by local theatre groups, dancers, improv troupes, film makers and more.
A portion of the proceeds from the Houston Fringe Festival benefit Writers in the Schools, a local organization that gives children all over Houston the gift of creativity, the power to discover their voices and freedom of expression through pairing professional writers with students in a classroom environment.
BooTown, a non-profit arts organization founded in June 2007 by Julie Gomez and Emily Hynds, spreads the love of art all about Houston while holding true to its mission of creating theatre and theatrical experiences through a collaborative process. BooTown is the producer of the Houston Fringe Festival, the old-time variety extravaganza known as The Boo Show, and the popular monthly Grown-Up StoryTime.
