STEPHEN KING’S MISERY OPENS AT STAGE DOOR INC.
February 15th - March 10th, 2013

Misery is a stage adaptation of Stephen King’s famous novel of the same name, which also spawned the famous movie starring Kathy Bates and James Caan as Annie Wilkes and Paul Sheldon. One of the best thrillers around, Misery is the story of a writer and his “number one fan.”

Paul Sheldon is a romance novelist who just finished his latest work and on a wild hair decides to drive through the mountains to LA. Caught in a snowstorm in those mountains, he has a terrible car accident. Luckily, he is saved by his number one fan, Annie Wilkes. Unfortunately, as it turns out, Annie is a little off her rocker.

Knock Me a Kiss takes place during the 1920s in Harlem. The story follows Yolonda DuBois, a woman torn between two lovers. One is a fast-living musician, Jimmy Lunceford, the other a poet, Countee Cullen, sanctioned by her father, activist W.E.B. DuBois.

This fictional account is inspired by the actual events surrounding the 1928 marriage of W.E.B. Du Bois' daughter Yolande to one of Harlem's great poets, Countee Cullen. The marriage marked the height of the Harlem Renaissance and was viewed as..

Rent opens Friday, January 4th, 2013 and runs, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sunday matinees at 3:00pm, weekends through January 27th, 2013. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors or students with ID. Group rates are available for all performances.
